You can enter up to 10 USER turnpoints, using this page (1 to 9
then 0). This allows correction of an incorrect turnpoint in the
database by replacement by a user point or quick addition of a
turnpoint temporarily. These points are NOT added to the
permanently stored database but are in Super Capacitor backed
RAM where they will stay for a week or two. This prevents
corruption of the database by casual use.
Note: You cannot do this in flight.
To use:
Press the CURSOR button on the RAT. The User Turnpoint number will be highlighted. Pressing
ENTER will add a new TP and copy the lat/long and altitude from the current turnpoint on the
INFORMATION page to the data fields. Move the cursor to the fields you want to change in this
information and use the CHANGE button and the rotary encoder to change the values.
If the user turnpoints have already been assigned, simply edit them by moving the cursor to the
fields you want to change and use the CHANGE button and the rotary encoder to change the
values. When finished with one turnpoint press ENTER.
You can also delete an unwanted TP from this list with the DELETE ( X ) key. This does not affect
the permanent database.
The User turnpoints are placed in reverse numerical order at the beginning of your turnpoint
database. If replacing an incorrect turnpoint it is suggested to make the incorrect turnpoint inactive
in the main database so as to prevent inadvertent selection on the PLAN page.
At the earliest opportunity it is suggested to download the turnpoint database using the PC support
program B2000DataLoader.exe and editing the user turnpoints and any marked positions you wish
to keep before reloading. Note that there is no facility to rename user turnpoints in the B2000 itself,
only in the PC.
The last page is the NEAREST page.
The seven closest airports or landing fields are displayed and
updated as you fly along with the distance and bearing to each
one.
Places you have enough altitude to reach with the selected
FINISH ARRIVAL margin are marked to the left of the place
name with the airport + or landing field - symbol.
If you wish to go to any one place , put the cursor on the name
and press ENTER. The B2000 will switch to the GRAPHIC page
and provide guidance for navigation and final glide.
On the GRAPHIC page the glider symbol will appear with a
diamond around it when you are in "glide to an emergency
airfield" mode.
If you wish to discard this choice and return to the task just press the X button.
Pressing the exit button again will again navigate you to the emergency airfield. This makes it easy
to keep track of your glide to this.
NOTE:
The B2000 does not contain a battery for memory backup. This avoids the requirement to ever
